| The
course was short, snappy and to the point |
|
| Nick
Palin, Finance & Administration Director, Forum of Private Business
(FPB) attended a course provided by Vision called, "Developing
Your Staff". He thoroughly enjoyed the course and found it to be so
helpful that he arranged for the training consultant to visit his
workplace and train key members of staff on how to get the best out
of people. "Paul Proctor the Training Consultant gave hints and
tips on how best to develop people and I found it applicable to the
job. I was not at all surprised when the course attendees came to
me afterwards and told me they had done exactly what they had learnt
and it worked!" "The course was short, snappy and to the point. I
would definitely promote it to the businesses that the FPB deals with.” |

Marked
improvement in confidence, morale & motivation |
|
Melanie Whitehead organises training for Bolton, Salford and Trafford
Mental Health NHS Trust. “North Trafford College
was chosen to deliver Health and Safety in the Workplace to 130 staff,”
she said. “The college was excellent, helpful and very flexible,
even helping with the administration. We have had 100% pass rate and
managers have reported not only an increased understanding of health
and safety issues but also a marked improvement in confidence, morale
and motivation. Some of the staff had been out of formal education
for a long time and are usually difficult to engage in training –
now they are keen to move on to the next level.” |

Internal Verifier Award. Ian is delighted “I am walking
around with a big grin on my face. After years of thinking I can’t
do things I now know I can.” |

Production
has gone up! |
 |
Alan
Reeves is the Factory Manager at Remploy in Wythenshawe. A company
initiative required that learning centres were set up at all sites.
“I wasn’t fully behind it,” admitted Alan.
“I didn’t want it interfering with production and
I told the college that it would be cancelled if we were busy. But
I didn’t cancel a single lesson and although 50% of the workforce
has been in training for 2 hours every week, production has amazingly
gone up! It has really opened my eyes! There have been such phenomenal
changes in their communication skills and the team leaders have much
more flexibility as everyone is eager to up-skill and try new roles.” |
| There
is no holding Catherine back now! |
|
| Catherine
Stanhope started a North Trafford College literacy
course at her workplace, Trafford General Hospital, at the age of
50: “I wanted to move on in my workplace but my writing
was holding me back. I’m so enthusiastic about what I have learnt
I am now encouraging other people to get on courses. I have much more
confidence. Now I have got two qualifications in English and I’m
enjoying reading. Next year I will do the GCSE and maybe some Maths.
I’m already doing a computer course and an NVQ in catering which
means I get more wages!” |
