Objectives:

gain an understanding of dyslexia. Dyslexia is seen as an “impaired
capacity” to deal with a number of tasks as quickly and
efficiently as non-dyslexic people. It usually shows up in reading,
writing and spelling but can affect a number of other aspects
of life too |

Identification
of: the differences between oral and written work, persistent
spelling difficulties, “good” days and “bad”
days when spelling, difficulty in getting information and ideas
down on paper, problems with sequences, slow and inaccurate
reading, poor short term memory, untidy handwriting, difficulty
in concentrating even when interested, problems listening and
taking in information, difficulty in telling the time and being
aware of the passing of time, confusion with left and right,
poor organisation, clumsiness |
